Caitanya Mahaprabhu accepted sannyāsa from Keśava Bhāratī, who is in turn part of the Bhāratī Mayavada school. Therefore, He is, formally speaking, a member of the Mayavada school. How can it be?
Hare Krishna, thank you for the nice article. I really like that you explained how Mahaprabhu and our recent acharyas acted and at the same time how we as conditioned souls are supposed to act. This gives a very clear perspective.
Thanks for the nice article. I have a doubt regarding difference in the way Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Srila Bhakti Siddhantha Saraswathi Thakur taking sannyas. It would be very helpful for me if you could explain that.
You mean by taking Sannyasa initiation from the photo of Srila Gaurakisora Dasa babaji? This can be done when one has connection with one's spiritual master in the spiritual plane. In this level, there are no barriers due to the lack of physical connection. One can receive instructions, or even initiation from one's spiritual master. This level is rare, but Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati attained it.
Thank you pr ji. And during Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's time, were there no Vaishnava sannyasis available like from Ramanuja Sampradaya etc. to take initiation from ?
And why didn't Srila BSST take initiation from a living Guru even from other sampradayas like Chaitanya Mahaprabhu ?
There were, but not in Bengal, I believe. Another point is that Mayavadis were the respected group at the time, and the purpose of the Lord in taking sannyasa was to use it as a tool to spread Krsna consciousness.
