Part 4: Finding the right balance and the right path
Even after sorting out our expectations and learning that few are perfect—even in a spiritual society—the next step is to secure our own spiritual practice by avoiding extremes. There are many traps and challenges that can make us stuck in the process. Personality cults, superficial understanding, culture wars, and false propaganda are all traps waiting to catch us and delay our progression in the path back to Godhead.
While avoiding them, we need to learn to cultivate positive aspects, such as a clear understanding of the philosophy, sane habits, simple living, and a healthy relationship with the spiritual master. We can go a long way by simply keeping our heads cool, our hearts soft, and our feet on the path.
