Yes, you are right, this is a complicated point. If the wife has a higher qualification and shows it, it is practically impossible to avoid friction in the marriage, because then the man will feel inferiorized or will revert to a submissive, child-like position, which will make the lady dissatisfied. That's why the scriptures suggest she should hide these qualities if she desires to have a harmonious married life, otherwise, this friction can lead to divorce.
My experience is that serious spiritual practice can help to balance it, because a serious devotee naturally becomes humble, and this can help to offset the difference. The lady may thus find ways to use her talents for Krsna without competing with her husband.
Hare Krishna! Nice article.
I have one small question...there is a suggestion that is the wife finds herself superior she should hide it so that her husband can flourish.
It's not possible.
1. Finally, by default one's qualities will come up even if she tries her best to keep her husband in front of him.
2. The husband will be able to feel at some pint of time the reality and it will not have a good effect on his personality.
3. Even if the husband tries to gear up he won't be able to because that material is not there.
4. Unfortunately these things can be realized only after getting married and living a real married life with each other, by then it's too late.
5 My question is what is the solution to such a problem?
