Is paying obeisances or worshipping demigods like Durga but with clear understanding that Durga also plays a role in this universe ordained by Supreme god Krishna also fall in not pure devotee category ?
If so, how to understand the worshipping of Tirupati Balaji or form of Jagannath which is not what how Bhagvan appeared and disappeared from this universe ?.
Is it not a later stage deviation by a few group of persons based on regional identities to carve out their own dominance in complete violation of Bhagavad Gita ?.
Jagannath is an eternal form of the Lord, mentioned in the scriptures; it is not a regional or cultural creation. There are three dhamas that are considered eternal, and directly presided by the Lord: Vrindavana, Mayapur, and Jaganatha Puri.
Prabhupada defined a pure devotee as someone who is following the path of pure devotion to the Lord, without mixing with worship to the demigods, material pursuits, mental speculation, etc.. If you have some evidence or anecdotes, Prabhupada's sons were following this path, I would be interested to hear.
Hare Krishna, Prabhuji. 🙏🏻

Submit it very humbly for a deeper understanding.

Thank you, Prabhu ji.

After reading the article a natural question arises that on what basis do we conclude that Śrīla Prabhupāda sons were not pure devotees??
