Continuous like the uninterrupted flow of oil, and like the long, resonant reverberation of a bell; he who knows that indescribable, topmost tip of Pranava (Om) (Naam), he alone truly knows the Vedas.

Hare krishna I have a doubt.

Since I have started chanting recently like a month ago the time to chant 1 round is usually 15 mins and even if I try to go a bit fast it still 10-12 mins

My question is this normal??

Caitanya Chandra Dasa's avatar

Yes, it's normal in the beginning. As you start chanting more it will become faster. Unless you deliberately try to chant slower or perfectly distinguishably, it will gradually come down to 10 min, then 8 min, and it will probably stabilize over time around 6 or 7 min per round.

I am not initiated yet, I will delete my message since I don't want my experience to be public , I just wanted to confide this with a devotee and hoped to show me right path, am I on the correct path? Is this natural process ? I cannot expresss the fear I am going through.

Yes, of course, that's in important stage of realization. You start to understand where you are, and from there you can start walking the path out of this situation.

You can study Bhagavad-Gita, 9th chapter. There Kṛṣṇa disrectly explains how we can come to Him.
